I love how you will introduce this book to help students understand disabilities. I didn't even think of that. It is true that everyone has a specific function to achieve in the world and the students can learn from the book.
This book sounds really interesting! I like your idea of including a lesson about differences and acceptance. I am hesitant with the idea about comparing students with disabilities to the boy and the robot because I worry that it makes students with special needs look dehumanized. Besides that, I think it's a great way to show that everyone has different needs and that is okay, but in a more general sense.
